About IGNITE

What is IGNITE Reiki Retreat?

IGNITE is a four-day, three-night retreat centered around Reiki, learning, connection, personal growth, nature, and community. Each year has its own theme and mix of workshops and experiences, with plenty of room to participate at your own pace.

Who is IGNITE for?

IGNITE is for anyone interested in Reiki, spiritual exploration, personal growth, community, or simply stepping away from everyday life for a while. People from different backgrounds, spiritual paths, identities, and experience levels are welcome.

Do I need to know Reiki to attend?

Not at all. IGNITE welcomes everyone from people completely new to Reiki to experienced practitioners and teachers. If you’re new to Reiki, an attunement is included with your registration at no additional cost if you choose to receive one.

Is IGNITE a Pagan retreat?

IGNITE is not a religious retreat, but it does have strong roots in the Pagan community. Pagan spirituality is part of our background and culture, and the weekend may include Pagan ritual, practices, symbolism, or workshops.

You do not need to be Pagan to attend. People of all spiritual paths—and those who don’t follow one—are welcome. Participation in spiritual activities is always optional. You’re welcome to join what resonates with you and sit out what doesn’t.

Registration & Pricing

What does my registration include?

Your registration includes the full IGNITE weekend—three nights of lodging, meals from Friday dinner through Monday breakfast, workshops and retreat activities, Reiki experiences, and an optional Reiki attunement at no additional cost.

How much does IGNITE cost?

Registration prices vary depending on when you register. Early Registration offers the lowest rate, followed by Regular Registration and Late Registration.

Visit the IGNITE 2027 page for current pricing and registration deadlines.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Payment plans are available through our registration system, allowing you to spread the cost of IGNITE over multiple payments. Available options will appear during checkout.

Can I use a discount code?

If you have an IGNITE discount or voucher code, enter it during checkout before completing your registration.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

We understand that plans change. Because IGNITE is a small retreat and many of our expenses are committed in advance, refunds depend on when you cancel:

Through February 28: Refund less a $50 cancellation fee
March 1–April 30: 50% refund
May 1 or later: Registration is nonrefundable

If you can’t attend, you may transfer your registration to another person through May 21. Please contact us so we can update the attendee information.

We also understand that serious, unexpected circumstances happen. While we can’t guarantee exceptions to the refund policy, please reach out—we’ll consider what options may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Lodging & Meals

Where will I sleep?

Your registration includes lodging in one of our two air-conditioned dormitories at Cleburne State Park. Each dorm has 24 twin bunk beds, along with restroom and shower facilities.

Dorm assignments will not be based on gender.

Do I need to bring a tent?

No! For the first time, IGNITE has indoor lodging with real beds and air conditioning. You can officially leave the tent and air mattress at home. 🎉

You will need to bring your own bedding for a twin mattress, pillow, towels, and personal toiletries.

What if I prefer not to sleep in the dorms?

You’re welcome to make your own camping arrangements at Cleburne State Park. Tent campsites and RV sites may be available through the park and must be reserved and paid for separately.

Your IGNITE registration price does not change if you choose alternative lodging, and you’ll still have full access to the retreat, meals, and group facilities.

We recommend reserving a campsite early if this is important to you, as IGNITE takes place over Memorial Day weekend so park sites may fill.

Are bathrooms and showers available?

YES!!! Our group facilities include restrooms and showers, so you won’t be trekking across a campground to a porta potty or using a hose outside to shower.

Are meals included?

Yes! Meals from Friday dinner through Monday breakfast are included with your registration. You do not need to purchase a separate meal plan.

Can you accommodate dietary needs?

We’ll do our best to accommodate common dietary needs when we know about them in advance. You’ll have an opportunity to tell us about dietary restrictions during registration.

Because meals are prepared for the group in a shared kitchen, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. If you have severe allergies or complex dietary needs, please contact us before registering so we can talk about what may be possible.

Can I bring my own food, snacks, or drinks?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, or supplemental food for the weekend. Refrigerator and other food-storage space may be limited, however, so please plan accordingly.

Meals from Friday dinner through Monday breakfast are already included with your registration.

The Retreat Experience

What does a typical day at IGNITE look like?

No two days—or IGNITE retreats—are exactly alike. You’ll find a mix of workshops, Reiki experiences, shared meals, spiritual practices, creative activities, time outdoors, and opportunities to connect.

There is also intentional space in the schedule to rest, explore, or simply be. A more detailed schedule will be shared as the retreat approaches.

Do I have to participate in everything?

Not at all. You are always welcome to choose what you need.

Attend a workshop. Take a nap. Go for a walk. Sit by the lake. Spend time with new friends. Skip something that doesn’t resonate with you. IGNITE is an invitation to explore—not an obligation to fill every minute of your weekend.

What kinds of workshops are offered?

Workshops vary from year to year and may explore Reiki, spirituality, personal growth, creativity, nature, practical skills, and other topics that fit the retreat and its theme.

The 2027 workshop lineup will be announced as we get closer to the retreat.

Will I have opportunities to practice Reiki?

Yes. Whether you’re learning Reiki for the first time or have practiced for years, there will be opportunities to give and receive Reiki, practice with others, explore different techniques, and learn from people with different approaches and experience levels.

Is a Reiki attunement really included?

Yes! If you’re new to Reiki and would like to receive an attunement, one is included with your registration at no additional cost.

Receiving an attunement is optional.

Can experienced Reiki practitioners attend?

Absolutely. IGNITE isn’t a beginner-only retreat. Practitioners and teachers from different Reiki backgrounds and lineages are welcome, and part of the experience is learning from one another.

What if I need some time to myself?

Take it.

Retreat doesn’t have to mean being social every minute. You’re welcome to step away, rest, journal, walk, sit outside, or simply have some quiet time whenever you need it. You don’t need to explain or apologize for taking care of yourself.

What to Bring & Life at the Retreat

What should I bring to IGNITE?

Pack for a comfortable weekend with time both indoors and outside. You’ll need twin-size bedding, a pillow, towels, toiletries, comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a flashlight or headlamp.

If you’d like to swim, bring a swimsuit and lake towel. Registered participants will receive a more complete packing list before the retreat.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable! IGNITE is casual, and you’ll want clothing that works for workshops, relaxing, and spending time outdoors.

Texas weather can be unpredictable, so layers are a good idea. Comfortable shoes are strongly recommended, especially if you plan to explore the trails.

Can I swim at the park?

Yes! Cleburne State Park has a designated swimming area at Cedar Lake. Swimming is optional, so bring a swimsuit and lake towel if you’d like to take advantage of it during your free time.

Will there be free time?

Yes—on purpose.

IGNITE isn’t meant to leave you rushing from one activity to the next. We build space into the weekend for rest, nature, conversation, exploration, and whatever else you need in the moment.

What is the weather usually like?

Late May in Texas is typically warm and can be hot, but weather can change quickly. Plan for sun, heat, rain, and cooler indoor temperatures in the air-conditioned buildings.

We’ll send registered participants updated weather and packing recommendations shortly before the retreat.

Do I need to disconnect from my phone during IGNITE?

No. We encourage you to step away from everyday distractions when it feels good to do so, but IGNITE isn’t a digital detox and we’re not taking away anyone’s phone.

You are welcome to use your devices. We simply ask that you be considerate of others during workshops, Reiki sessions, ritual, and other shared experiences.

Can I take photos?

Yes! Photos are welcome at IGNITE, and we love having memories of the weekend to share.

Please be respectful when photographing others, particularly during Reiki sessions, workshops, ritual, or personal moments. Attendees will have an opportunity during registration to tell us if they do not want to appear in photos used by IGNITE.

We ask everyone to respect those preferences throughout the weekend.

Can I bring my own spiritual or Reiki items?

Of course. You’re welcome to bring personal items you enjoy using for Reiki, meditation, journaling, ritual, or spiritual practice.

You don’t need to own or bring any special spiritual tools to participate in IGNITE. If a workshop requires particular materials, we’ll let you know or provide them.

Policies, Safety & Accessibility

Can children attend?

Yes. IGNITE is designed primarily as an adult retreat, but minors may attend with a parent or legal guardian.

Every attendee, regardless of age, requires a full-price registration and their own ticket. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors throughout the retreat and determining which activities are appropriate for them.

Can I bring my pet?

No. This is a change from previous years.

Pets are not permitted in our group facilities at Cleburne State Park, so attendees may not bring pets to IGNITE 2027. Please make other arrangements for your animals before the retreat.

Qualified service animals are permitted as required by law. If you’ll be attending with a service animal, please contact us in advance so we can help you plan for the weekend.

Is IGNITE accessible?

We want IGNITE to be as accessible and welcoming as we can reasonably make it. Our new venue provides indoor, air-conditioned lodging and gathering spaces, but we’re also in a state park, where terrain and distances between spaces may vary.

If you have mobility, sensory, sleeping, dietary, or other accessibility needs, please contact us before registering or as early as possible afterward. We’re happy to talk through the facilities and what accommodations may be possible.

Do I have to sign a liability waiver?

Yes. All attendees must agree to the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk during registration. A parent or legal guardian must complete the required agreement on behalf of a minor attendee.

You can review the full waiver before registering here.

What is the photography policy?

Photography and video are permitted at IGNITE, and IGNITE may take photos or video for our website, social media, and future retreat promotion.

You may opt out of being photographed. Attendees can indicate their preference during registration, and we’ll provide a way to identify those who have opted out during the retreat.

Everyone is expected to respect photo-free activities, spaces, and participants.

What happens if I have a medical emergency?

If you need emergency medical assistance, IGNITE staff will help contact emergency services and take reasonable steps to assist until help arrives.

Please make sure the emergency contact information you provide during registration is accurate and current. Attendees remain responsible for their own medical care, medications, and related expenses.

What are the expectations for behavior at IGNITE?

IGNITE is built around respect, consent, community, and personal responsibility.

Attendees are expected to respect other people’s boundaries, identities, beliefs, bodies, belongings, and choices about participation. Harassment, discrimination, threatening behavior, or conduct that creates an unsafe or seriously disruptive environment is not acceptable.

Participation in Reiki, touch, ritual, workshops, conversation, or any other activity always requires appropriate consent. “No” is a complete answer, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Serious or repeated violations may result in removal from an activity or from the retreat.

Is alcohol allowed?

The weekend is intentionally designed as a space to be present—to connect with yourself, with others, and with the experience rather than disconnect from it.

IGNITE asks participants to remain sober and fully present during retreat activities. Please do not consume alcohol or other substances in a way that leaves you intoxicated or impaired during the retreat.

Can I smoke or vape?

Yes, outdoors and in accordance with Cleburne State Park rules. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the dormitories, dining hall, or other indoor retreat spaces.

Please be considerate of others, use appropriate designated areas where required, and dispose of cigarette butts and other waste properly. Nothing should be left on the ground.
