A Journey Through Self-Healing
IGNITE Reiki Retreat 2023 was where the journey began.
In May 2023, we gathered for the very first time at Spirit Haven Ranch in Flatonia, Texas.
Our first theme, A Journey Through Self-Healing, invited us to turn inward—to explore Reiki not only as something we offer to others, but as a practice of connection, reflection, and healing for ourselves.
We spent Memorial Day weekend learning, practicing, connecting with nature, walking the labyrinth, sharing Reiki, and beginning to build the community that IGNITE would become.
We didn’t know then exactly where this journey would lead. We only knew we wanted to create a space where people could come as they were, learn from one another, experience Reiki in community, and leave with something meaningful to carry home.

The Sights of IGNITE Reiki Retreat 2023
Part of IGNITE has always been stepping away from everyday life and noticing what’s around us. The first year brought plenty to discover—from flowers and trees to some of the smaller (and occasionally surprising!) inhabitants of the land.
The Labyrinth
The labyrinth offered a place to slow down, walk with intention, reflect, and simply be. It became one of the spaces where participants could step away from the activity of the weekend and spend time with themselves.
Reiki Play at Haven Grove
Reiki doesn’t have to be solemn to be meaningful. At Haven Grove, we had space to practice, experiment, share Reiki with one another, and experience what happens when learning becomes playful and communal.
The First Step in an Ongoing Journey
A Journey Through Self-Healing was only the beginning.
What started in 2023 became an annual gathering—each year bringing a new theme, new experiences, new people, and new opportunities to learn and grow together.
IGNITE has changed since that first weekend. Our location has changed. Our accommodations have changed. The retreat itself continues to evolve.
But the heart of it remains: Reiki. Connection. Discovery. Community.
The journey continues.
